ABOUT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Green Township Police Department is charged with the responsibility of serving and protecting the more than 60,000 residents of Green Township. Under the direction of Chief James Vetter, 62 sworn Green Township police officers provide a wide variety of police services.

The Patrol Section protects the streets of the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 2023, patrol units in Green Township responded to over 46,300 calls for service.


The Criminal Investigative Section is responsible for investigating reports of crime; over 4,200 reports were filed last year.


In addition to patrol and investigative services, the Green Township Police Department provides a wide range of other services. Some of these services include; a K-9 unit, motorcycle patrol, bicycle patrol, Crime Prevention services,  Neighborhood Watch, and Citizens’ Police Academy


The Green Township Police Department also has officers assigned to various multi-jurisdictional units including the Hamilton County Police Association (HCPA) S.W.A.T., (HCPA) Honor Guard, (HCPA) Mobile Field Force Team, and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Regional Narcotics Unit (RENU),
