Scams

The Green Township Police Department receives complaints from citizens regarding scams. These scams come in a variety of forms and involve a wide range of victims. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office compiles information regarding reported scams and releases that information through their website.

Please take time to visit the Ohio Attorney General’s Office website and review information regarding local scams. The best defense to prevent these scams is to be well informed before they come to you.

The FTC website also provides information for scam alerts. You can visit this information under the FTC Consumer Information section.

Internet Crimes

Green Township Police detectives actively investigate reports of internet related crime. The majority of these offenses involve perpetrators in other states, and in many cases, other countries. Our detectives have followed the electronic trail worldwide, working cooperatively with police across the United States in an attempt to solve these crimes. Unfortunately, once your money leaves the United States, it is gone for good.

Remember, if it seems to be too good to be true, don’t send money or information. Educate yourself and don’t be that next victim!
